These small teeth are typically made of folded chromium plats and are responsible for the actual cutting of the trees or other wood. Whatever type of chainsaw is being used, all use some type of lubricant to spin the chain easily. A lubricant comes in different forms from use to use.
Chainsaws do not only cut wood. There are chainsaws exclusive in the use for block, brick, and stone. These chainsaws have a diamond blade to zip through concrete and water lubrication to reduce the chance of a fire from sparks and burs that come from cutting concrete and stone. Though, these types are much less dangerous than wood-cutting chainsaws because there is less kickback.
Chainsaws have many uses for homeowners and professional landscapers. These useful tools are also used by fire departments to cut into buildings that are on fire or cut down existing structures to get people out of harmful places. There are all different sizes of chainsaws from short chainsaws to be used in gardening to gigantic chainsaws that are exclusive to land clearing.
The cost of chainsaws vary largely by capability and particular use. The bigger ones can be very expensive, especially if made by a popular manufacturer. Small home-grade chainsaws are fairly inexpensive and can last forever if they are taken care of. But, chainsaws for concrete are large and pricey. These chainsaws are typically purchased by contractors for removal of concrete and the cutting of expansion joints in concrete slabs. Whatever the application, chainsaws are very popular and are perfect for many jobs around the house.
